DSCC conducts special cleaning and mosquito control drive

DSCC conducted a special cleaning and mosquito control drive today in Ward No. 66 (Zone 8), attended by Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia.
More than 600 workers from DSCC's Waste Management and Health departments, along with local residents, participated in the drive, which began at 6:00 am . Drains, sewers, and footpaths were cleaned, while mosquito repellents were applied in the area.
As part of a public awareness campaign, a rally was held with the participation of local residents, members of the Red Crescent, and BD Clean. Building owners were also cautioned after inspections for stagnant water at under-construction sites to detect the presence of Aedes mosquito larvae.
Urging residents to dispose of waste in designated spots, Administrator Shahjahan Mia said: "If locals behave responsibly and keep garbage in designated places, our cleaners will collect it and they will enjoy the benefits." He also proposed forming a citizen committee, regardless of political affiliation, to inform the corporation about local problems and facilitate collective solutions.
DSCC CEO Md Zahirul Islam, Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Md Mahabubur Rahman Talukder, and other officials and community leaders attended the programme.
