All political parties must show patience and tolerance to fulfill the July Uprising aspirations, said State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit today (5 August).
He made the reamarks while speaking to reporters after attending a procession and paying tribute at the martyr monument on the occasion of July Mass Uprising Day in Jashore.
He said,"To fulfil the people's aspirations of July, all political parties must show patience and tolerance. If we speak in the same language used by the fascists, then we are not embracing democracy in our hearts."

"There may be differences in political ideologies, but ultimately we want to build a modern, self-reliant Bangladesh," he added.
The district administration organised the procession, which began from the district commissioner's office premises at around 10:30am. It passed through major roads before ending at the Shaheed Memorial at Bakultala, where participants laid wreaths in memory of those killed in the uprising. A discussion was later held at the Jashore District Shilpakala Academy, where July fighters and family members of those killed were honoured.
The city saw a festive atmosphere throughout the day, with students, cultural activists, professionals and people from different walks of life joining the programmes. The procession featured slogans including "Fight for democracy, build a new Bangladesh". At the discussion organised by the district administration, families of those killed and injured in the July uprising were present. Speakers expressed solidarity with them and assured them of necessary steps to improve their living standards.
They stressed the need to build a discrimination-free, democratic and humane state by upholding the spirit of the July uprising. BNP and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami also brought out separate processions in Jashore to mark the day. Party leaders and activists, along with members of the public, took part in the programmes and marched through key roads and intersections.
Leaders at different locations paid tribute to those killed in the July uprising and reiterated their commitment to establishing democracy. The city also hosted a concert organised by BNP in the evening, featuring popular artistes. The day-long programmes drew large participation from people across different professions and sections of society, creating an atmosphere of celebration and remembrance across Jashore.
