Driver, helper killed as truck crashes into tree in Faridpur
The truck was heading from Dhaka to Jashore when it veered off the road and overturned after hitting a tree

A truck carrying watermelons crashed into a roadside tree after losing control in Faridpur's Madhukhali upazila early today (15 April), killing both the driver and his assistant on the spot.
The accident occurred around 3:15am in the Ghopghat area of Bagat union along the Dhaka-Khulna highway, confirmed Karimpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Salauddin Chowdhury.
The deceased have been identified as Md Idris Ali, 30, the truck driver, and Md Haidar Ali, 32, his helper. Both were residents of Keshabpur upazila in Jashore.
According to the Fire Service and local sources, the truck was heading from Dhaka to Jashore when it veered off the road and overturned after hitting a tree. Both men died at the scene.
Md Rashedul Alam, station officer of Madhukhali Fire Service, said, "We went to the spot after receiving information late at night and recovered the bodies. They were later handed over to the highway police."
OC Salauddin Chowdhury said that the bodies are being kept at Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex. "The families have been informed and the bodies will be handed over once they arrive," he said.
