Members of Greater Jashore Development and Division Implementation Committee organised a press conference to put forth their 11-point list of demands, including upgradation of Jashore's existing airport to an international one and construction of Daulatdia-Paturia 2nd Padma Bridge.  

General Secretary of the organization, Advocate Abdullah Al Mamun read out a written statement during the press conference at Dhaka Reporter Unity's Sagar-Runi auditorium on Saturday.

The demands include modernization of Benapole land port, bringing all the districts under rail and gas connection and creating economic zones in each district of greater Jashore.

In addition, they demanded the declaration of Jashore as a division, establishment of public universities in four districts, and the naming of agricultural, engineering, medical and cultural universities after Mahakobi Michael Madhusudan Dutt, Fakir Lalon Shah and legendary artist SM Sultan.

The platform also demanded upgradation of Dhaka-Jashore-Benapole Highway to four lanes on an emergency basis and the establishment of a hi-tech park in each upazila.

Former General Secretary of Dhaka-Jashore Samity and the platform's Senior Vice-President, Kazi Rafiqul Islam responded to queries from journalists, while engineer, Shoilendra Nath Saha, the president of the platform, presided over the press conference.

Vice-Presidents of the platform, Lt Colonel (retd) Syed Hasan Iqbal and Gazi Saifur Rahman; Daily Bhorer Dak Editor, KM Belayet Hossain; platform Treasurer, Md Nasir Uddin, and member of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Madhusudan Mondal attended the press conference.
