Dipon murder verdict on 10 February 

A Dhaka court on Sunday has fixed 10 February for delivering verdict in the murder case of Jagriti Prokashoni publisher Foysal Arefin Dipon.

Judge Mujibur Rahman on Sunday set the date after closing of arguments from both sides, reports Jago News.  
 
So far 23 witnesses out of a total 26 witnesses have testified in the duration of the case. 

The prosecution in the murder case of Jagriti Prokashoni publisher Foysal Arefin Dipon pleaded for the maximum punishment for all eight of the accused.

The main lawyer in the prosecution, lawyer Golam Sarwar Jakir made the demand during his closing arguments on 17 January.

Foysal Arefin Dipon was murdered on 31 November, 2016. 

His wife Rajia Rahman filed the initial case at Shahbagh police station.

The tribunal that took place on 13 October, 2019, charged eight members of the banned Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). 

The accused include Army Major Ziaul Haque, 50, Moinul Hasan Shamim, 24, Md Abdus Sabur, 23, Khairul Islam, 24, Md Abu Siddique Sohel, 34, Md Mozammel Hossain Saimon, 25, Md Sheikh Abdullah, 27, and Akram Hossain alias Hasib, 28. 

Six of the accused have submitted confessional statements.
