Police have intensified security measures in the Dhanmondi 32 area of the capital ahead of 15 August , the death anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The heightened precautions aim to prevent any acts of sabotage or unrest marking the day.
Since Thursday afternoon, additional security personnel have been deployed at all major entry points to the area.
During a visit to the area around 11pm, UNB observed leaders and activists from BNP-affiliated organisations holding processions and chanting slogans.

Meanwhile, a group of people gathered at Dhanmondi 32 beat up three individuals on suspicion of being activists of banned Awami League tonight (14 August). Later, they were handed over to police.
The incidents took place between 8:30pm and 9pm.
Speaking to the media, Ramna Division Deputy Police Commissioner Masud Alam said three people are in custody.
"We will verify the allegations, and if they are innocent, they will be released. If found guilty, legal action will be taken," he said.
