Dhaka airport's security tightened prior to arrival of Hadi's body
The flight took off from Singapore Changi International Airport at 4:03pm local time (2:03pm Dhaka time) and is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this evening, around 5:50pm, according to a high official of the national carrier.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG 585 departed Singapore this afternoon (19 December), carrying the body of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, who died while undergoing treatment.

He added Biman Bangladesh Airlines has taken all necessary measures to ensure the smooth and dignified repatriation of the slain leader's body.
Meanwhile, heightened security measures have been implemented at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport ahead of the arrival of Sharif Osman Hadi's body from Singapore on Friday evening (19 December). The airport has been placed under tight security, with Airport Armed Police, BGB and the military deployed both inside and outside the terminal.
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's executive director, Group Captain SM Ragib Samad, told The Business Standard (TBS), security arrangements have been made considering the overall situation. Besides Airport Security, the Air Force's Quick Response Force will be deployed inside the terminal, while the military and Airport Armed Police Battalion will be stationed outside.
Samad added none will be allowed inside the security cordon, and any attempt to breach it will be resisted.
He urged the public not to undertake any actions that could disrupt security arrangements.
