The ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route have been suspended from 11pm Monday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

The authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) suspended the services to avoid accidents as the ferry's marking light has dimmed down due to thick fog.

BIWTC Manager (trade department) Salam Hossain said, "Heavy fog started accumulating from Monday evening. Later, the light of the marking lamp of the ferry became dim at around 11pm."

"Regular services will resume as soon as the visibility improves," Salam Hossain added.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles, waiting on both sides of the ferry terminals, has increased due to the disruption of the services.
