Culprits involved in mugging wearing RAB uniform to be held soon: Home adviser
The overall law and order situation is satisfactory, he says

Police are making all-out efforts to quickly apprehend the culprits involved in the robbery of Tk1 crore in the capital's Uttara area yesterday wearing uniform like the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said today (15 June).
"We're very much concerned about the incident. We're trying our best to bring the people involved in the incident to book as soon as possible," he said while replying to a question after coming out of a meeting of the core committee on law and order at the Home Ministry's conference room at the secretariat.
In response to another question, he said the overall law and order situation is satisfactory.
About the preparation of the law enforcement agencies for holding polls, the home adviser said that they have the preparations.
"The Election Commission (EC) will announce the election date. The law enforcement agencies are prepared to hold the election as per the date fixed by the EC," he said.
Replying to a question about "inactivity" of police, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said a mindset has developed among the people in the last 15 years that if police do not beat or kick people, they are inactive.
"The police are now more active than before," he said, adding that they are working to build a humane police force.
About the push-ins at frontiers by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), the home adviser said they have held formal talks over the matter with Indian authorities.
Coming down heavily over push-ins through rivers and jungle, he said, "No civilized country would ever allow this."
The home adviser reiterated his call to India to follow the due process of law in sending back Bangladeshi citizens.
"If the people are Bangladeshis, follow the proper channel to send them back and we will accept them," he added.
