Cuet suspends exams until 4 September amid engineering students’ protest
Examinations scheduled from 31 August to 4 September will remain suspended

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Cuet) has suspended all departmental and batch-based examinations until 4 September due to the ongoing engineering students' protest demanding five points.
The decision was announced yesterday (28 August) in a notice signed by Professor Dr Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, acting registrar of CUET.
According to the notice, the decision was taken at a syndicate meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, citing the ongoing student agitation and campus uncertainty. Examinations scheduled from 31 August to 4 September will remain suspended.
The university authorities said fresh schedules for the postponed exams will be announced later and will follow departmental regulations.
Academic activities at CUET and other engineering universities have been disrupted in recent days as the majority of engineering students across the country are protesting to demand their rights. They have boycotted classes and exams while also holding road blockades, human chains and other demonstrations.
According to university authorities, the only solution lies in discussions based on the students' logical demands.
However, it is not possible to conduct examinations under the current circumstances, they added.
