Crude bombs exploded in front of Mirpur’s Shah Ali Market

Unidentified miscreants detonated three crude bombs in front of Shah Ali Market in Mirpur-10 around 6:50pm today (10 November), police said.
Confirming the incident, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Mirpur division) Md Maksuder Rahman said the explosions created panic among locals, causing them to run for safety. However, no casualties or property damage were reported.
Earlier in the morning, crude bombs were detonated at four separate locations in Dhaka, including the premises of a business owned by Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter.
According to the Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge, two crude bombs were thrown at Farida Akhter's business premises on Sir Syed Road around 7:10am — one exploded inside the premises and the other on the street. Police visited the scene and are analysing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, in Dhanmondi, motorcycle-borne assailants hurled two crude bombs near Ibn Sina Hospital and another two in front of Midas Center at Dhanmondi-27 around 7:30am, confirmed Shah Mostafa Tariquzzaman, assistant commissioner of DMP (Dhanmondi zone).
"Two people on a motorcycle threw the bombs. When police attempted to catch them, they sped away like thieves," said Jishanul Haque, additional deputy commissioner of DMP (Dhanmondi zone).
