Wife of Ctg top criminal 'Chhoto Sazzad' vows to bring him back with ‘bundles of money’
Court places Sazzad on 7-day remand

Following the arrest of Sazzad Hossain, a top criminal from Chattogram, his wife Tamanna Sharmin has sparked controversy by vowing to secure his release.
A video clip of her remarks has gone viral on social media, where she was seen promising to bail her husband out despite his facing multiple charges.
Meanwhile, a Chattogram court placed Sazzad on a seven-day remand on Sunday.
In the video, Tamanna Sharmin can be heard saying, "We will pay bail money bundle by bundle to bring my husband back. Those responsible for what has happened will not be spared."
She further added that within 10-12 days she would have bail out her husband, an accused in 17 separate cases, including charges of murder, illegal possessions of firearms and extortion.
"My husband was arrested last night [Saturday], but there is no cause for despair. When there are cases against you, arrest is inevitable. For those who believe he will never be released, accept my condolences," she said.
"We have been fugitives for so long; now it's your turn to be on the run. The game begins now."
Sazzad Hossain was apprehended by police around 10pm on Saturday night near a shopping mall in Dhaka.
His arrest follows an earlier announcement on 30 January by Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasib Aziz, who had declared a reward for his arrest.
Just a day prior to the arrest, Sazzad had issued threats via Facebook live directed at a police officer from Baizid Bostami Police Station.
Following his arrest, the Chandgaon Police Station applied for a seven-day remand in one of the cases against him.
A Chattogram court then granted a seven-day remand for Sazzad Hossain on Sunday afternoon.
Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakkar Siddique granted the remand following a hearing.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Prosecution) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Mofiz Uddin told The Business Standard that police sought a 14-day remand for Sazzad in connection with the Tahsin murder case under the Chandgaon Police Station. After a court hearing, the judge approved a seven-day remand for further interrogation.
A history of criminal allegations
Police identified Sazzad Hossain as a follower of another militant, Sajjad Ali Sajjad, a fugitive known as a "Shibir cadre".
Sazzad was implicated in the shooting deaths of three sand businessmen—Anis, Kaysar, and Aftab Uddin—between August and October last year.
On 17 July last year, Chandgaon police arrested him with arms in his possession. He secured bail shortly after that arrest.
On 4 December last year, while police attempted to apprehend him in the Oxygen area of the city, Sazzad allegedly exchanged gunfire with officers and fled, resulting in injuries to five people, including police.
