An Indonesian national, who is also wife of a Bangladeshi expat in Malaysia, along with her three children were killed in their home at Sreepur upazila of Gazipur.

The incident came to light at around 4pm on Thursday.

The deceased are SmrityFatema, wife of Kajol Miah, their daughters Sabrina Sultana Noora, 16, and HaorinHawa, 12, and their speech impaired son Fadil, 8.

Kajol Miah, a resident of Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh, is currently working in Malaysia and his wife and the children lived in their two-storey home at Telihati union, said Kajol's elder brother Arif.

On Wednesday evening, Fatima asked Arif to buy her some essentials from the market. On Thursday morning,Arif while going to the market yelled in front of Fatima's house but upon getting no reply left their doorstep thinking everybody was asleep.

Around noon when Arif left home for going to the market again, he went to Fatima's home and yelled again. Upon getting no reply he used a ladder, found on the back of Fatima's house, to climb to the second floor of the two-storey house and found the back door of the flooropen.

He got into the living quarters and found the throat slit bodies of Fatima and her children on the floor.

He also found the bodies with no clothes on.

Upon hearing about the incident, police rushed to the spot.

"Bodies of the mother and her daughters had no clothes. We found a dagger and a knife at the spot,"said Liakat Ali, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station.

"Initially we believe that more than one person are linked to this incident but the motive of the murder is still unknown. We have sealed off the perimeter of the house and called the CID forensics department," he added.

TelhatiUnion Parishadmember Tarek Hossain Bacchu said, "The incident is believed to have taken place any time early Thursday. No one heard any sort of shouting or yelling when the incident took place."
