Two cops stabbed during raid on mugging gang’s hideout in Ctg
Police arrested two suspects from the scene

Two police officers were injured in a knife attack while conducting a raid on a mugging gang's hideout in the Barik Building area of Double Mooring Police Station in Chattogram today (25 February).
Meanwhile, police arrested two suspects from the scene and recovered stolen money, robbery equipment, and locally-made weapons.
The two injured police personnel are sub inspectors Jamil and Nazrul of Double Mooring Police Station. The two arrested suspects are Tarek and Jewel, both alleged members of the mugging gang.
According to police, acting on a tip-off about a criminal hideout in Barik Building, SI Jamil and SI Nazrul visited the location and questioned locals, confirming the gang's presence. However, as they attempted to apprehend the suspects, the criminals stabbed them multiple times before trying to flee.
Additional police and detectives rushed to the scene, successfully arresting Tarek and Jewel while the rest of the gang members escaped.
The injured officers were immediately taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan of CMP West Division told the journalists, "Monir, Mehedi, Tarek, Jewel, Raju, Bhandari, and Rabi were preparing for a robbery from this hideout. They were organising their tools for robbery and mugging, which they regularly engage in. They also gathered here to distribute money from previous crimes."
"Our Double Mooring police team arrested two members, but the rest attacked our officers and managed to flee," he added.
DC Bhuiyan further revealed that Tarek and Jewel had engaged in a fight among themselves over sharing the stolen money.
"They stabbed each other during the dispute, causing Tarek to suffer a head injury," he said.
In response to a query, the police official confirmed that various weapons, knives, and burglary tools were recovered from the hideout.
"This is not the first time they have used this location. They have also set up a hideout in an adjacent under-construction building," he added.
The police are conducting further investigations and operations to capture the remaining gang members.
