Throat-slit body of woman found at Gazipur home, injured husband hospitalised

Police have recovered the body of a woman, as well as her husband who reportedly attempted suicide after fatally slitting her throat, from a flat in the Nawab Ali Market area of Konabari in Gazipur city.
They were found this morning (15 November). Moments after, police detected signs of life in the husband and rushed him to hospital.
The injured man, Imran Hossain, is the son of Suruj Ali from Amtala village under in Mymensingh. His wife, Rahima Khatun, aged 35, was found dead at the scene.
Konabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Salahuddin said, "Moments after recovering the bodies, we found a pulse in Imran Hossain during a search. He was immediately sent to hospital for advanced treatment. His wife Rahima's body is being sent to the morgue. Further interrogation is underway."
Legal action in connection with the incident is in process, he added.
Family members said this was the couple's second marriage. Imran worked as a butcher, while Rahima was a homemaker.
According to police and local residents, Imran and Rahima lived with their daughter, 16-year-old Sharmin, on the fifth floor of Ekta Villa in the Nawab Ali Market area.

Neighbours informed the police after learning of the attack. Responding to the call, officers recovered the bodies from the flat.
