One extortionist held in capital's Shahali area
The release said an extortionist group comprising 20 to 25 people went to the Swadhin Market in Mirpur to extort money in the name of the Shahadat Bahini on Sunday at 7:50pm

Police have arrested extortionist Asif Sikder, who used to collect tolls in the name of Shahadat Bahini (gang), from the capital's Shahali area.
Mirpur Model Police today (24 February) conducted a raid in the Shahali area at 4:30am and arrested him, according to a media release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The release said an extortionist group comprising 20 to 25 people went to the Swadhin Market in Mirpur to extort money in the name of the Shahadat Bahini on Sunday at 7:50pm.
They demanded TK 10 lakh from the market. After not getting the money, they became furious and vandalized the market.
In this connection, Tariqul, the manager of Swadhin Market, filed a case with Mirpur Model Police Station.
The arrestee was produced before the court and legal action is on in this connection.
