A man was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head inside his bedroom in the Patikabari union of Kushtia Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased, identified as Abdur Rahman Uzzal, 35, son of the late Osman from Patikabari Bazar, was a distributor for a biscuit company and also ran a photocopy shop in the local market.

Confirming the matter, Patikabari police camp Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shamsul Haque told TBS that the body was found inside a tin-roofed house on the victim's own property in the Tahazmor area.

"A pistol and a note were found next to the body," he said.

ASI Shamsul Haque added that the body was lying on the bed with a gunshot wound to the head, and initial findings, including the note, suggest it may be a case of suicide.

According to police and local sources, Uzzal had been living alone in the house. Three months ago, his wife left with their only child and moved to her parental home due to unresolved marital issues. Since then, he had reportedly been mentally distressed.

Family members became concerned when he failed to wake up on Sunday morning. When they looked through the window, they saw him lying motionless in bed. Locals then broke open the door and informed the police.
