Kuwaiti major general suspended for 'accepting bribe' from MP Papul

Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anas Al-Saleh has issued a decree suspending Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Mazen Al-Jarrah for allegedly accepting bribe from Bangladeshi MP Shahid Islam Papul.
During the investigations into the case of MP Papul, it came to light that there is the possibility he accepted bribes and was involved in financial transactions, reports Times Kuwait citing Al Rai.
Shahid Islam Papul is under investigation by the Kuwait government for money laundering, human trafficking, visa trading and bribery.
He was sentenced to be detained for a period of 21 days in the central prison last week.
Papul is a sitting Member of Bangladesh Parliament and runs four companies in Kuwait providing cleaning services, with 9,000 cleaning workers under his employ.
