KFC among 3 food outlets fined Tk1.2 lakh in Ctg for food safety violations

The Directorate of National Consumers' Rights Protection (DNCRP) today (23 September) fined three food outlets in Chattogram's GEC area for using unauthorised ingredients and failing to comply with food safety regulations.
A DNCRP team led by Chattogram Deputy Director Fayez Ullah fined KFC Tk20,000 for using palm oil in all food items without informing consumers and for failing to mention expiry dates on its own packaging.
"In total, three food outlets have been fined Tk1.2 lakh in today's operation. Such drives will continue in the interest of public health," said Fayez Ullah.
The operation also fined Kacchi Dine's GEC branch Tk70,000 for using unauthorised chemical kewra water instead of natural spices in its food.
Another restaurant, Candy, was fined Tk30,000 for similar violations.
