Fugitive life-term convict arrested in Turag

Police have arrested a fugitive convict sentenced to life imprisonment from the Turag area of the capital.
The arrestee has been identified as Md Akhtar Hossain.
He was arrested around 7:30pm today (26 December) from Baunia Bazar in Turag by the police of Turag Police Station.

Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner of the DMP's media wing Talebur Rahman said Akhtar Hossain was a fugitive convict sentenced to life imprisonment in a case filed with Turag Police Station and had been on the run for a long time to evade arrest.
Legal proceedings against him are currently underway, he added.
