Five arrested in Gazipur for abducting five children, including father of one victim

Gazipur Metropolitan Police today (6 April) rescued five children who were abducted from the Gacha Police Station area in Gazipur city.
The children were found in the Faujdarhat area, located within the Sitakunda Police Station jurisdiction in Chattogram. The authorities arrested five individuals, including the father of one of the rescued children, in connection with the abduction.
The rescued children are Yasin (11), son of Hannan Mia from Kalmeshwar, Gazipur; Md Al Amin (12), son of Monir from Tungipara, Gopalganj; Mohammad Naeem (12), son of Shuvo Mia from Tungipara; Khushi Akter (11), daughter of Khokon; and Shanta Akter (10).
The arrested suspects are Amir Hossain (26), Monir Hossain (28), and Ashik (23), sons of Ali Akbar from Tungipara, Gopalganj; Halima Khatun (30), daughter of Shukkur Munshi from Khulna; and Marina Khatun (55), wife of Yunus Ali from Mymensingh.
Following their arrests, the suspects were presented in Gazipur court, where police filed a remand application. By Sunday evening, a hearing was underway.
According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Mohammad Rashid, Monir Hossain had adopted his son, Al Amin, to be cared for by a relative in Gazipur's Kalmeshwar area. After visiting his son on 3 April, Monir, along with his accomplices, abducted Al Amin and four other children, taking them to Faujdarhat, where they were held captive.
When the parents realised their children were missing, Khokon Mia, father of Khushi, filed an abduction case. Using technology, Sub-Inspector Saiful Alam and Sitakunda Police traced the suspects to Faujdarhat, where the children were rescued.
The arrested individuals are under investigation, and further action will follow the court's remand decision.
