Ex-AL MP Tuhin arrested in 2 separate murder cases

Sabina Akter Tuhin, former president of Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo Mohila League and former member of parliament from a reserved women's seat, has been shown arrested in two separate cases of killings during the July Uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam approved police requests to arrest her in both cases filed at Mirpur Police Station and sent her to prison today (10 December).
The cases involve the killings of Moktakin Billah and Ashraful Islam during the July uprising. Moktakin Billah was shot on 19 July last year at Mirpur 10 Gol Chattar and died the next morning. Tuhin is the eighth accused in this case.
Ashraful Islam was shot on 4 August last year in Mirpur and declared dead at the hospital. Tuhin is the 18th accused in this case, which was filed at Mirpur Police Station on 22 September last year.
Earlier, on 22 June, Tuhin was arrested from her father's home in Auna village of Sholla Union of Nawabganj Upazila, by the Detective Branch. She had also been arrested under the Anti-Terrorism Act and has been in prison since.
