Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) seized a car of Dipu Haque Sikder and Ron Haque Sikder, which was allegedly used in the attempt to murder case of Exim Bank Managing Director.

The DB seized the car, a white Range Rover, registered as Dhaka Metro-Gha-18-3965, from Sikder House on Banani's Road 11.

Moshiur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of DB (North) confirmed the Business Standard regarding about the matter.

"This car was mentioned in the case documents as it was used in the attempt to murder case of Exim Bank Managing Director Haydar Ali Khan. We also informed the court on Tuesday about this," Moshiur Rahman said.

"Though they left Bangladesh earlier, we are continuing our investigation. It does not matter to us where they are," he added.

Earlier on May 7, two directors of Sikder Group allegedly tried to kill Exim Bank's Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Haider Ali Khan and Additional MD Mohammad Firoz Hossain by shooting them for refusing to price the value of the directors' mortgaged property at a higher level for a loan, according to a case filed by the bank authorities with Gulshan Police Station.

They also tortured the two senior bank officials confining them at a house in Banani and forced them to sign a white paper.

According to the case statement, the incident took place on May 7 and Exim Bank filed the case on May 19.

The whole incident took place over a loan proposal of Tk500 crore. Haider Ali and Firoz Hossain were called in to inspect the mortgaged property in return for the loan.

On May 29, two fugitive brothers fled the country in cinematic style after taking permission from agencies of the government.
