Crude bomb explodes near ICT office in Dhanmondi; 2 detained during flash procession attempt
Both detainees are Jubo League leaders of Faridpur
A crude bomb explosion occurred in front of the office of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in the capital's Dhanmondi today (11 November).
In a separate incident, two suspected Jubo League leaders were detained while attempting to organise a flash procession in Dhanmondi.
The explosion took place around 7:30pm today on Road 11/A in front of the ICT office. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Later in the evening, at Dhanmondi 27, police detained two individuals, Tonmoy Saha and Bhola Farhad, while they were allegedly attempting to hold a flash procession.
Both incidents were confirmed by Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kyashinyu Marma, who said, "A crude bomb exploded in front of the ICT office on Road 11/A in the evening. No one was injured. Efforts are underway to identify those responsible for the explosion."
He added that two Jubo League leaders were detained while attempting to bring out a procession in the Dhanmondi 27 area.
According to police, Tonmoy Saha is the organising secretary of Faridpur thana Jubo League, while Bhola Farhad serves as the general secretary of Gazirtek union Jubo League.
