“The family is preparing to file a case, and we are working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing," says police
Din Islam, a 35-year-old content creator, was beaten to death in Brahmanbaria's Kasba upazila today (24 March).
The incident took place around noon in Shimrail village of Mehari union, confirmed OC Nazneen Sultana of Kasba Police Station.
The victim's body has been sent to the district hospital morgue for autopsy, she said.
"The family is preparing to file a case, and police are working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing," OC Nazneen added.
According to the OC, Din Islam ran a Facebook page called "Talash Crime Drishti" in addition to creating other video content.
A group of about 20 people allegedly called him from his home around noon, reportedly beat him severely, and left him in critical condition near the Gangerkut area under Bangra Police Station in neighbouring Cumilla district.
He was rescued and taken to Kasba Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the OC said.
The victim's father, Shafikul Islam, said Din often produced videos highlighting drug use, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities.
He alleged that a local influential group, angered by these videos, was behind his son's murder.
