The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Bangladesh Police arrested an alleged member of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Gazipur's Bara Dewra area on Sunday afternoon.

The arrestee was identified as Md Rashidul Islam, 20, son of Md Wahed Mia, hailing from Jhenaidah, according to police. 

Some Jihadi books and one mobile phone were also seized from him.

During the interrogation after the arrest, Rashidul said they had been running a campaign to establish "Gazwatul Hind" through bloody war and had been conducting various operations in order to establish Khilafat in Bangladesh.

The process of filing a case against Rashidul is underway.
