6 Swechchhasebak Dal men sued over assault on ex-CEC Nurul Huda

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have lodged a case against six leaders of the Swechchhasebak Dal, a volunteer wing of the BNP, for allegedly assaulting former chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda by inciting a mob.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Sajib Hasan filed the case with the Uttara West Police Station on Tuesday afternoon, naming six individuals affiliated with the Swechchhasebak Dal and accusing 20 unnamed others, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman.
The accused have been identified as Sheikh Farid Hossain, president of the Dhaka North unit; Dulal, president of the Turag Thana unit; Selim, convener of the Uttara West unit; Hanif, member secretary of the same unit; Kaium, joint convener of the Uttara East Thana unit; and Mozammel Hossain Dali, a supporter.
Among the accused, Hanif was arrested on Monday night.
The remaining accused are still at large, but efforts are underway to apprehend them, the OC added.
