5 held while preparing to commit robbery in guise of law enforcers in Motijheel
The raid was conducted by a team of DB-Wari division, based on secret information that some miscreants were preparing to commit a robbery in Balaka Chattar area under Motijheel police station.

Police arrested five members of an organised gang of dacoits while preparing to commit robbery in the guise of law enforcers in the capital's Motijheel area.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Mannan (35), Riyad Hossain (37), Abdul Jalil (40), Md Matiur Rahman alias Matin Khan alias Matin Chora (37) and Paresh Adhikari (35).
The arrests were made after conducting a raid in Balaka Chattar area under Motijheel police station around 11:10pm yesterday (16 July).
According to Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, two black belts inscribed with RAB, one black walkie-talkie and one pair of handcuffs used in the robbery were seized from their possessions during the operation.
The raid was conducted by a team of the Detective Branch (DB) Wari division, based on secret information that some miscreants were preparing to commit a robbery in Balaka Chattar area under Motijheel police station.
A case was filed with Motijheel Police Station in this connection.
During the initial interrogation, the detainees confessed that they were active members of an organised robbery gang and they used to target people who had withdrawn large amounts of money from banks.
Later, they would rob the withdrawn money in the name of law enforcement agencies.
There are multiple cases against the arrested people in different police stations.
