The tribunal also extended the deadline by three months for submitting the investigation report in a separate case related to crimes against humanity that occurred during the mass uprising in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered the investigation into the murder of Shaikh Ashhabul Yamin – who was shot dead by police and thrown from an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) on 18 July 2024 in Savar – within the next two months.
The tribunal also extended the deadline by three months for submitting the investigation report in a separate case related to crimes against humanity that occurred during the mass uprising in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area.
Speaking to the media today (18 May), ICT Prosecutor Gazi Monowar Hossain Tamim said, "The submission of investigation reports in both cases was scheduled for today. However, the tribunal, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumdar, granted the extensions following appeals from the prosecution."
According to court sources, six individuals, who were accused in both cases, were presented before the tribunal today.
Initially, ten individuals were named accused in the Yamin murder case. Later, three more were added.
The tribunal also granted an arrest warrant for another suspect in the same case today.
