Two more remanded over trader's murder at Mitford
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah passed the order

A Dhaka court today (13 July) placed Alamgir and Monir, arrested over the gruesome killing of scrap metal trader Lal Chand Md Sohag in Dhaka's Mitford Hospital area, on a four-day remand each.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah passed the order as police produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand each.
Separate courts on 10 July had placed Mahmudul Hasan Mahin on a five-day remand and Titon Gazi on a five-day remand on 12 July respectively in the case.
The incident occurred on the evening of 9 July around 6 PM, when Sohag was beaten to death with bricks and stones in the premises of Mitford Hospital.
Shocking footage of the attack — showing continued brutality on his body even after death — went viral on social media, sparking public outrage.
Sohag, the victim, son of Yusuf Ali Hawlader, was a resident of Purbo Namabari village in Keraniganj. He had been running a scrap business in Rani Ghosh Lane of Old Dhaka for many years.
Two separate cases — one for murder and another under the Arms Act — have been filed with the Kotwali Police Station.
