Govt approves Tk7.08cr variation for Vellapara Bridge construction
Following the variation, the revised contract price will stand at Tk55,08,46,808.014.
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today (24 August) approved a Tk7.08 crore price variation proposal for the construction of the 121-metre Vellapara Bridge over Murai Khal on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Cox's Bazar-Teknaf national highway.
The approval came at a meeting of the CCGP held at the Secretariat with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.
According to the proposal, the Roads and Highways Department is implementing the bridge construction project under government financing through the Chattogram South Road Division.
The original contract for the construction of the 1X121-metre Vellapara Bridge, including approach roads, was awarded at a cost of Tk48 crore.
The committee recommended a variation of Tk7,08,46,808.014, representing a 14.760% increase over the original contract value.
Following the variation, the revised contract price will stand at Tk55,08,46,808.014.
The work is being carried out under the package titled "Construction of 1X121.0m Vellapara Bridge, including approach road, over Murai Khal at 252nd km on Dhaka (Jatrabari)-Cumilla (Mainamati)-Chattogram-Cox's Bazar-Teknaf (N1) road under Chattogram South Road Division."
The Roads and Highways Department under the Road Transport and Highways Division proposed the variation.
National Development Engineers Ltd-Hassan Techno Builders Ltd-Masud Hi-Tech Engineering Ltd JV was recommended as the contractor for the work.
