Salahuddin's disappearance case: Tribunal orders Ziaul Ahsan to appear on 27 Aug
The former RAB official is currently detained in several other cases involving allegations of crimes against humanity.
The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered retired Major General Ziaul Ahsan, a former additional director general (operations) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), to appear before it on 27 August in a crimes against humanity case over the disappearance of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed in 2015.
The tribunal passed the order today (10 August) following a prosecution petition seeking a production warrant for Ziaul.
The former army officer is currently detained in connection with several other cases involving allegations of crimes against humanity.

Salahuddin filed a complaint with the Office of the Chief Prosecutor on 3 June 2025, accusing seven people, including then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, of his disappearance.
The other accused are former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former inspector general of police Benazir Ahmed, former IGP AKM Shahidul Haque, former Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, Ziaul Ahsan and former Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit chief Monirul Islam.
Salahuddin was allegedly picked up from a house in Uttara, Dhaka, on the night of 10 March 2015.
He resurfaced in Shillong, Meghalaya, India, on 11 May that year. Indian authorities subsequently filed a case against him under the Foreigners Act for entering the country without valid documents.
He returned to Bangladesh on 11 August 2024, following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government during the July mass uprising.
