The court set 8 January for the accused to present statements in their defence.
A Dhaka court has concluded recording testimonies in a corruption case over the allocation of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) plots against ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her niece Tulip Siddiq, and Azmina Siddiq.
Dhaka's Special Judge Court-4, presided over by Judge Rabiul Alam, today (5 January) declared the end of testimony after the deposition of the investigation officer, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya.
The court set 8 January for the accused to present statements in their defence.
Confirming the development, ACC Public Prosecutor Jahirul Islam said the investigation officer was scheduled to testify on the day.
Following the testimony, defence counsel cross-examined accused Md Khurshid Alam, after which the court closed the evidence stage.
So far, the court has recorded testimonies of 31 witnesses, including the investigation officer.
On 13 January last year, the case was filed by ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya against Azmina Siddiq, alleging abuse of power and irregularities in obtaining several 10-katha plots in Rajuk's Purbachal New Model Town Project.
On 27 November 2025, Sheikh Hasina was sentenced to 21 years' imprisonment in total, while her children Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Saima Wazed Putul each received a 5-year prison sentence with Joy receiving an additional Tk1 lakh fine, in three separate corruption cases related to irregularities in the Rajuk plot allocations.
Earlier on 17 November, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) sentenced Hasina to death in a case over crimes against humanity committed during last year's July Uprising.
