Nusrat murder: HC orders investigating Feni magistrate
A bench comprising justices FRM Nazmul Ahasan and KM Kamrul Kader passed the order on Monday

The High Court has ordered the authorities concerned to investigate Additional District Magistrate PK Enamul Karim in connection with the murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.
Enamul also serves as the governing body chairman of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasa in Feni, where Nusrat was a student.
A bench comprising justices FRM Nazmul Ahasan and KM Kamrul Kader passed the order on Monday after hearing a writ petition filed by Supreme Court Lawyer Advocate Eunus Ali Akond.
The court then directed the secretaries of home and education ministries to lead the investigation and submit their report by August 18.
The bench also issued a ruling seeking explanation on why necessary action should not be taken against Enamul Karim for his inaction regarding the sexual harassment and subsequent murder of the student.
The editor of Samakal, the public administration ministry, education and home secretaries, the inspector general of police, the Feni deputy commissioner, the superintendent of police and the officer-in-charge of Sonagazi Police Station were all made respondents to the rule.
During the hearing, the HC observed that if Enamul would take action against the madrasa principal, Nusrat would not have to embrace the brutal consequence.
The court questioned that if an educational institute is not safe for a student then where they will go.
Deputy Attorney General Abdullah-Al-Mahmud Bashar represented the state during the hearing.
According to case details, SM Sirajuddoula, the principal of the madrasa, sexually harassed Nusrat in his office on March 27. The student’s mother filed the case the next day.
Nusrat and her mother went to Enamul's office to file a complaint against the principal just after a week, but he did not take any action, according to a report published by Samakal on June 21.
On April 6, Nusrat was set afire at an examination centre, allegedly by people loyal to the principal, after he had been arrested and subsequently suspended after the case was filed.
Nusrat died on April 10 at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
