The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered authorities concerned to produce former Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Atiqul Islam and five others before the tribunal on 17 February in connection with a case filed over the July-August massacre in the capital's Uttara.

The ICT passed the order today (11 February) following a hearing on an application filed by the prosecution, according to court sources.

Apart from Atiq, the others are: Awami League's Uttara East unit Education Secretary Shahinur Mia, Uttara West unit President Monowar Islam Chowdhury Robin, Gazipur Metropolitan Organising Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun Mondal, Uttara Sector-6 President Bashir Uddin, and Jubo League leader Delwar Hossain Rubel.
