Ex-jail super, jailer, pharmacist of Khulna Jail sued

The ACMM Md Anisur Rahman instructed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Khulna Metropolitan Police to submit the investigation report by 22 September before the court, Shaheedul Islam, lawyer of the plaintiff told BSS.

A case was filed against immediate past Jailer AG Mahmud, 50, ex-superintendent Rafiqul Islam Kader, 48, and Pharmacist Ataur Rahman Parvez, 45, of Khulna District Jail with the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court today (22 August).

The ACMM Md Anisur Rahman instructed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Khulna Metropolitan Police to submit the investigation report by 22 September before the court, Shaheedul Islam, lawyer of the plaintiff told BSS.

Member Secretary of Khulna district unit BNP Monirul Hasan Bappy filed the case as complainant against them on charge of negligence of treatment while he suffered a cardiac attack in the Jail and threw vulgar comments against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and acting Chairman Tareque Rahman.

On January 7, 2024, the CMM court sent Bappy to the Jail after cancelling his bail order in a political revenge case centering last general election during the AL government regime.
