ACC launches drive at 8 major railway stations over Eid ticket black market, passenger harassment

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched drives at eight major railway stations, including Dhaka's Kamalapur Railway Station, today (28 May) following complaints of black marketing tickets and passenger harassment ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
Speaking to The Business Standard, ACC Deputy Director Akhtarul Islam confirmed the operation and said the drive at Kamalapur station would begin at 11:30am.
Besides Kamalapur, the ACC teams are conducting simultaneous operations at Rangpur Railway Station, Chattogram Railway Station, Parbatipur Railway Station (Dinajpur), Jamalpur Railway Station, Mymensingh Railway Station, Sylhet Railway Station and Rajshahi Railway Station.
The initiative comes amid widespread public complaints about irregularities in Eid train ticket sales, including allegations of scalping, and mismanagement, causing severe inconvenience for passengers.
