Mashrur Arefin, managing director and CEO of City Bank, wrote a post on Facebook on Sunday night, denying that he had paid for actor Pori Moni's car, an allegation reported in a newspaper.

He termed the allegation yellow journalism.

The banker said he had never seen Pori Moni, had not heard her name before the "boat club" incident, and had never talked to her.

"I do not have a car. I use the car my bank has allocated to me. At the end of my bank job, I will definitely take out a bank loan to buy a car and ride it," he wrote.

He wondered how he could give a car to someone whom he did not even know.

"How did we communicate? Through a phone call? What is her number? The call record should be revealed."

He said he devotes his time to literature after returning home from work and never goes to any club or party.

"Gifting a car to Pori Moni sounds like something said in the language of Mars."

At the end of the long post, he said the society would deliver the judgment as it plays the role of a judge.

Pori Moni, who is now in remand in the case filed with Banani Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act, was arrested in a raid on her Banani residence in the capital on 4 August.

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) also claimed to have seized a huge quantity of foreign liquor as well as LSD and paraphernalia drugs from her house.

At present, the Criminal Investigation Department is tasked with investigating the cases filed against her.

But Rab on Monday sought the transfer of 10 cases, including those against Pori Moni, Helena Jahangir and Raj Multimedia Proprietor Nazrul Islam Raj.

It sent a letter to the police headquarters, seeking approval to take over the investigations of the cases.

Over 50 police members have been assigned to ensure Pori Moni's security when she will be produced before court on Tuesday (today) after the end of her remand.
