Chinese vice foreign minister to visit Dhaka on 2-3 April, Envoy Yao Wen tells FM Khalil
The Consultations are expected to review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China and explore new avenues for enhanced cooperation in areas of mutual interest, reads the press release.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman this morning (12 March) and briefed him on the upcoming visit of Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the press release, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong will visit Bangladesh on 2-3 April and will lead the Chinese delegation to the 14th Bangladesh-China Diplomatic Consultations.
The Consultations are expected to review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China and explore new avenues for enhanced cooperation in areas of mutual interest, reads the press release.
The press release also says, "Vice Foreign Minister Weidong is also expected to meet high-level dignitaries during the visit."
Acknowledging China's long-standing support and contribution to Bangladesh's development journey, Foreign Minister Rahman expressed hope that the visit would inject new momentum into Bangladesh-China bilateral relations following the formation of the new Government, adds the press release.
Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir was also present during the meeting.
