Chhatra Dal leader killed in BNP factional clash in Bhola
The clash also left several people injured

A local Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader from Monpura upazila in Bhola died last night (20 March) after sustaining critical injuries in a factional clash between two groups of BNP leaders and activists.
The deceased, Md Rashed, 27, son of Abul Kalam from South Sakuchia union, was the former general secretary of a union-level JCD committee, said Monpura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ahsan Kabir.
The clash took place yesterday morning at Nur Uddin Bazar in Ward No 9 of South Sakuchia Union. Rashed passed away while being taken to a hospital in Dhaka.
According to police and local sources, the conflict stemmed from an ongoing dispute over embankment construction work by the Water Development Board near Nur Uddin Bazar.
The dispute involved supporters of former Bhola-4 MP Nazim Uddin Alam and Juba Dal's central general secretary Nurul Islam Noyon.
The altercation escalated into a violent clash, leaving several people, including Rashed, injured.
The injured were initially taken to Monpura Upazila Health Complex. Some were later transferred to Charfashion Upazila Health Complex.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Rashed was referred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal and subsequently to Dhaka. He died en route near Faridpur last night.
OC Ahsan Kabir added, "Rashed, who was injured in the clash between two BNP factions, has died. His brother filed a written complaint last night, and further legal action will be taken after the investigation."
