Chattogram sister city of UK’s Portsmouth: Raja Ali
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with CCCI for improving bilateral ties

Raja Ali, head of the 18-member delegation of UK Trade, Investment and Education Mission, termed the Chattogram as a "sister city" of Portsmouth due to their geographical similarity.
He said this in a vie-exchange meeting with Directors of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) held at Bangabandhu Conference Hall of World Trade Center, Chattogram on Tuesday, November 19.
"Bangladesh is now known as the fastest growing economy in the developing world," said Ali.
He also said a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed with the Chattogram chamber for further improving bilateral relations.
Mentioning that UK and Bangladesh have been enjoining a good and excellent trade relation. Mahbubul Alam, president of CCCI, said "The two countries have to pave way for enhanced bilateral trade and investment by utilizing the potentials in the."
Lauding UK's progress and development in different sectors, the chamber president urged the delegation members to invest and provide technical support in various sectors of Bangladesh including education, shipbuilding, plastic, shipping, catering, consultancy, maritime, tourism, IT, furniture, and packaging, agriculture and fisheries industries.
Businessperson from different levels in Chattogram were present in the meeting.
