Police today submitted the charge sheet against Mojnu, a serial rapist believed to have raped and tortured a Dhaka University student on January 5.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on January 8 arrested the rapist, Mojnu, 30, a CNG-run Auto rickshaw driver from Gazipur's Tongi area by tracking down the mobile phone of the victim, which the arrestee took away along with her bag and some other belongings.

The victim, a second-year student of Dhaka University, was picked up to a nearby bush after she got down from bus in the capital's Kurmitola area, where the rapist hit the girl and tried to kill after rape, RAB officer said, adding that the offender had admitted to being a serial rapist and a drug addict.
