Buet VC on way to meet Abrar’s family
The protesting students had locked the VC in the administrative building Tuesday upon his not visiting the murder scene
Professor Dr Saiful Islam, the vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), has started for Kushtia at 10am today to meet the family of Abrar Fahad.
Vc's personal secretary Kamrul Hasan confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall and a second-year student of Buet, was beaten to death on Monday night by some Chhatra League men over his alleged affiliation with Jamat-e-Islami's student wing Chhatra Shibir.

Students across the country have been staging protest demanding justice over Abrar's murder and placed ten-point demands, otherwise threatened to go for tougher movement for justice for Abrar Fahad murder.
The protesting students had locked the VC in the administrative building Tuesday upon his not visiting the murder scene.
Later Dr Saiful Islam assured the protesting students that those who are involved with Abrar's murder will be expelled as per the university's rule.
