Locals said a patrol team of BSF captured the Bangladeshis from about 200 yards inside the Indian border near pillar 374/1-S adjacent to Ranishankail upazila this morning while they were returning to Bangladesh from India.

Lieutenant Colonel Tanzir Ahmed, commander of Thakurgaon 50 BGB battalion, said a flag meeting has been called to bring back the detained Bangladeshis.

"Efforts are underway to bring them back to the country as soon as possible," he added.
