BRTC launches e-ticketing service on pilot basis
For each online ticket, Shohoz.com will charge Tk20 as service fee, while customers will also bear the payment gateway charges as per existing rules
The state-owned Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched an e-ticketing service on a pilot basis on three selected routes to make passenger transport system more efficient and people-friendly.
BRTC and Shohoz.com, the company that will operate the e-ticketing service, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today (13 November) at the BRTC headquarters in Motijheel, Dhaka, in this connection.
According to the MoU, the e-ticketing service will initially be available for Dhaka–Barishal–Dhaka, Dhaka–Daudkandi–Dhaka, and Dhaka–Araihazar–Dhaka routes. Passengers will be able to purchase e-tickets through web portals, mobile apps, call centres, and other digital platforms.

On behalf of BRTC, Md Abdul Latif, unit head of the Motijheel International Bus Depot, and Md Julfiker Ali, unit head of the Barishal Bus Depot and on behalf of hohoz.com Shakil Jowad Rahim, director (Tickets), signed the MoU.
Speaking at the event, BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Mollah said that although the service is being launched on three routes initially, it will be expanded gradually to all BRTC routes if it receives a positive response from passengers.
He added that Shohoz.com has long experience in operating e-ticketing services for Bangladesh Railway, and hoped BRTC passengers will also benefit from this technology-driven service.
