BRAC Bank Limited (BBL) receives Best Corporate Award 2019 Gold (first) prize in the private commercial bank category

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has recognised BRAC Bank Limited (BBL) with the Best Corporate Award 2019 Gold (first) prize in the private commercial bank category.

Commerce Minister of Bangladesh Tipu Munshi MP, handed over the award to Abdul Ohab Miah, Financial Controller of BBL at a ceremony organised at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in Dhaka on Thursday, says a press release.

Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission; Dr. Md. Jafar Uddin, secretary to the Ministry of Commerce; and AKM Delwer Hussain FCMA, president of South Asian Federation of Accountants, attended the programme as special guests.

From over hundred contenders under 15 categories, the "ICMAB Best Corporate Award 2019" jury board - consisting former Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman, BUET Vice Chancellor Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder, veteran Banker Anis A. Khan - selected the winners.

The award was introduced in 2007 to recognise the contributions of corporate entities in Bangladesh and encourage increased competitiveness among enterprises for better corporate governance.

BRAC Bank is the only bank in Bangladesh that has retained credit ratings of B+ from S&P Global and Ba3 from Moody's - the top credit rating agencies in the world.
