BNP’s Bobby Hajjaj owns no property, wife owns 120 bhori gold
Hajjaj, former chairman of the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) who recently joined the BNP, submitted his affidavit to the Election Commission (EC) to contest the Dhaka-13 constituency. The contents of the affidavit has been published on the EC website.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) nominee Bobby Hajjaj has declared that he owns no land, house or apartment, while disclosing that his wife holds 120 bhori of gold, according to his election affidavit submitted ahead of the 13th national election.
Hajjaj, former chairman of the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) who recently joined the BNP, submitted his affidavit to the Election Commission (EC) to contest the Dhaka-13 constituency. The contents of the affidavit has been published on the EC website.
According to the affidavit, Bobby Hajjaj holds an MBA degree and reported no criminal cases against him. He identified his profession as a teacher at a private university.
He disclosed that he is a director of Datco Private Company, managing director of Gyani IT Limited, and managing partner of Veritas Academy. The affidavit also states that he has no bank or financial institution loans.
In terms of assets, Hajjaj reported having Tk1.56 crore in cash. He owns 35 bhori of gold, while his wife owns 120 bhori.
His annual income includes Tk27.55 lakh from his profession and Tk89,895 from share investments. He also reported an annual income of Tk6.90 lakh from a joint business.
The affidavit shows that Hajjaj has Tk4.65 lakh deposited in bank accounts, while his wife has Tk14.50 lakh in her bank accounts. He reported having no agricultural land, residential house or apartment.
Hajjaj also said he has no investment in savings certificates or fixed deposits, although his wife has invested Tk12 lakh.
