BNP to hold nationwide prayer programmes for July martyrs, Khaleda Zia
Initiated under the direction of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, the events will also include special prayers for the departed soul of party chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The BNP has announced a four-day series of prayer programmes and discussions across the country to honour the martyrs and the injured of the July Uprising, alongside those who sacrificed their lives in the nation's long democratic struggle.
Initiated under the direction of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, the events will also include special prayers for the departed soul of party chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The observances are scheduled to take place between 11 and 14 January, a press release signed by ABM Abdus Sattar, personal secretary to the acting chairman, confirmed yesterday (6 January).
The programmes will be observed in several key districts, including Dhaka, Tangail, Sirajganj, Bogura, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, and Gazipur.
According to the announced schedule, the events will commence in Dhaka and Tangail on 11 January, followed by programmes in Sirajganj and Bogura on 12 January.
On 13 January, activities will expand across the northern region to include Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, and Lalmonirhat. The final day's observances on 14 January will conclude with sessions in Rangpur, Bogura (Gabtali), and Dhaka.
