Bida introduces 'Innovation' category in Excellence in Investment Award
The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) has announced a new category "Innovation" under its prestigious Excellence in Investment Award to recognise innovation-driven enterprises shaping the country's investment landscape.
Firms engaged in innovation-led sectors are invited to apply online through https://bida.gov.bd/ and https://summit.bida.gov.bd/. The application deadline is 27 March 2025, reads a press release.
The Excellence in Investment Award is a flagship initiative of the upcoming Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025, scheduled to be inaugurated on 9 April 2025 at The Intercontinental, Dhaka.

Starting this year, the award will honour outstanding contributions across four categories: Local Investment, Foreign Investment, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and the newly introduced Innovation. It celebrates enterprises demonstrating excellence in areas such as investment scale, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, employment generation, and now, breakthrough innovation and entrepreneurial impact.
"We are excited to spotlight the growing role of startups and innovation in Bangladesh's economic journey. By adding this category, we aim to encourage risk-takers, disruptors, and visionaries who are building the industries of tomorrow," said Bida Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury.
