Be sincere in serving expatriates: Home adviser to passport, visa wing officials

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has urged officials of the passport and visa wings at Bangladesh missions abroad to work with sincerity and a service-oriented mindset.
Speaking as the chief guest at a training and orientation programme at the Ministry of Home Affairs today (17 August), he addressed officials selected for appointment as first and second secretaries in passport and visa wings of foreign missions.
"Expatriates are the driving force of Bangladesh's economy. It is mainly their remittances that keep the economy afloat. As most of them belong to the working class, officials must treat them with respect and maintain good relations while providing passport and other services," the adviser said.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining cordial relations with other embassy and mission officials to ensure a healthy working environment.
